Upcoming mushroom projects

Been busy doing other things lately, but there are some nice projects heading this way. I have finished the mushroom scarf and is currently working on getting the pattern down on paper. The biggest project so far and the one I'm most satisfied with. The mittens for the set has also been started, and the first one is actually done. Will probably go on with the socks after the mittens before leaving the mushroom collection for a while.

8-bit mushroom headband

The mushroom collection is growing. I have finished two more parts of the collection and first up of those is the mushroom headband. It's really similar to the hat, but obviously doesn't cover the whole head. Requires less yarn and time to complete and is perfect for these cold (but not yet freezing) pre-winter days.

The pattern is of course available at Ravelry.

8-bit mushroom hat

My first own pattern is now up and available on Ravelry and it is an 8-bit mushroom hat. This is the first part of my "mushroom collection" that will (when finished) feature matching hat, headband, mittens, scarf and socks. All with the nice green mushroom (which of course can be replaced with any color you prefer)

And so it begins...

Hi!

I'm the 8-Bit Knit Nerd and welcome to my blog. I started with crochet about 6 years ago by making my own hat for the winter. Since then I've been doing crochet on a regular basis, mostly making hats, headbands and amigurumis. Lately I tried knitting and started to enjoy that even more than crochet, but something was still missing. A goal! What do I wish to accomplish with my knitting? Besides the obvious of keeping my head, hands and feet warm during the winter season (it gets quite cold in Sweden) I want my work to represent me. I started to play around a bit with making patterns and soon found the thing for me - making nerdy retro-inspired stuff, especially inspired by the 8-bit era in which I grew up.

I will use this blog to share my progress and work and hopefully inspire others to do the same. As I have a full time job and other hobbies the progress will probably be a bit slow, but I intend to post updates once a week.
